First prize is $750 and Second Prize is $250. There are also prizes for the best paper from a first-year students, and from one enrolled in Women and Gender Studies.</p>
<p>The last day to submit essays is April 28, 2011.</p>

				<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Title: </strong>Remembering for the Future<br /><strong>Location: </strong>Maureen Forrester Recital Hall<br /><strong>Description: </strong>The musical play &#8216;Remembering for the Future&#8217; tells the story of Waterloo Lutheran Seminary, and thus, Wilfrid Laurier University, highlighting major changes and tensions throughout the years, but seeking to find what is helpful to remember from those times that can lead us into the future. With a cast of four, this show promises to be entertaining and poignant, with music from the church and society woven throughout the play.</p>
<p>Tickets will be available for purchase through Dorinda Kruger Allen at Waterloo Lutheran Seminary. The cost to attend is $20, $10 for students.</p>

Dr. Ulrich Leupold: Inspiring Lives of Leadership and Purpose<br /><strong>Location: </strong>Keffer Chapel, Waterloo Lutheran Seminary<br /><strong>Description: </strong>As an administrator, musician and theologian, Rev. Dr. Ulrich Leupold had a major impact on the university and seminary campus from 1945 &#8211; 1970. Dr. Paul Helmer, musicologist from McGill, will speak to Leupold&#8217;s work and contribution to society, while the choir will sing arrangements and compositions of Dr. Leupold. Rev. William Huras, retired bishop of the Eastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Chruch in Canada, will also give a tribute to Leupold&#8217;s ministry. The lecture-recital-tribute will be followed by a celebratory reception. </p>
<p>Confirmed speakers include: Dr. Paul Helmer, Rev. William D. Huras, WLU Chapel Choir and WLU Alumni Choir under conductor Elvera Froese.</p>
