Centennial celebrations have begun!
Wilfrid Laurier University’s 100th anniversary celebrations have officially kicked-off.
The Waterloo campus was transformed on October 16, 2010 with the installation of several LAURIER100 banners – some as large as 80 feet – and banners have appeared in Brantford and Toronto since then.
The Laurier communities will celebrate for a full year with special events, conferences, lectures and musical performances leading up to its 100th anniversary on October 30, 2011.
Many initiatives are still in the works, including a life-size bronze statue of Sir Wilfrid Laurier, a popular history book about the institution’s roots, and a formal evening event that will close out the celebration period.
This website will feature regular updates on all of these initiatives, and much more. We hope you will visit often and join us in celebrating at this exciting time in our history.
